I dont have car insurance and I tip R1 / R2 ... Am i going to hell?

Anybody know what those carguards earn? How much should we be tipping them?
Sometimes I feel they are good honest people and deserve a decent tip, and sometimes their omniprescence bothers me- they are just everywhere!! Like the staff at disneyland who just pop up out of the ground...
Not sure, but I do know that some of the more official guards earn a salary on top of tips.
When I was a waiter at the Pavilion years ago, for example, the Pavilion manager used to sit and drink with us. He told us that the guards earn an hourly rate which was more that what we were earning in the restaurant! Add tips to that, and well, they probably were taking home a bigger pay cheque.
They were not supposed to be officially accepting tips, but telling someone not to take free money is a pretty futile exercise, and the general public didn't know that so they just tipped anyway.

I get the worst deal with this okie who mans the parking lot behind woolworths in Davenport Rd, when one is not much more than 10 minutes inside a specific venue, does one HAVE to tip? I'm sure this dude knows me by now, I race in and out with that desparate air of pleasedon'tmakeanyeyecontactwithmei'monlygonna be10minutes and I do tip every say 3rd time I'm in there (about a rand), but I get met with a face of thunder / extreme swamps-of-sadness expression every other time and it really irks me and makes my whole experience pretty stressful. Anyone else have this problem?

Yeah I also get sif looks sometimes, but it's normally from guys who are no more than beggars with a lumo vest on!
For 10 mins or less, tipping is not essential in my books! ;)
Buy a pack of apples from the Everfresh & hand those out if you've a problem with cash - bag of apples costs buggerall.
If the o's are still giving you skwiff looks well then they're bummed that you're curtailing their next meths binge, which is not a bad thing.

While we're on the subject, how much do you tip petrol attendants? I gave a dude 3 michael jacksons the other day for doing the petrol,tyres,oil & water thing and he was stoked
And then R1 to another dude for putting in R50 bucks petrol and I got a face like a smacked arse staring back at me.
everywhere I go I feel like I've got this system wrong, the guilt....the pain....arrrgh!!
hehe... if they do the whole oil/water/tyres bit, and are friendly, then R2 - R3. Sometimes more!
