Changing Over To Organic Green Tea
Submitted by the_looking_glass on Friday, September 15, 2006 - 06:51

For as long as I can remember, I've always been a morning coffee person. My day hadn't started until I'd had my coffee fix. A year ago I discovered how good herbal tea and green tea were as a substitute, and since then there's been no turning back.

Events And Gig Guide - 15 September
Submitted by capdog on Thursday, September 14, 2006 - 06:53

Seems like there's something for everyone this weekend. Check out the awesome duo Goldfish on Saturday night, head out to the midlands for a three day trance festival or catch some excellent bands playing at Burn.

EarthDance KZN 2006
Submitted by s.o.l.asassyn on Thursday, September 14, 2006 - 06:00

Earthdance is another example of the joining of intent through collective action that our generation is blessed to see. Over 250 parties occur at the same time across this planet three from the sun.

Politrickhell?
Submitted by Obi on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 - 07:13

Okay people, tell me - what the hell is going on in this country, huh? You tell me if I'm dreaming or what, but this shit seems to me like we are living in a movie - and a bad C-grader at that!

Goats On The Durban Streets
Submitted by capdog on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 - 08:36

In the absence of any real content (and to brighten your day a bit), here are some pictures of the goats that roam the streets next to our offices. We’re a software development house based on Francois Road, under the University, and these buggers hang around eating the plants outside my window. Their owners don’t seem to notice or care. Ah yes, one of the great things about South Africa! Wildlife!

Metrobeat
Submitted by capdog on Friday, September 8, 2006 - 06:26

Does anybody else take the time to read the Metrobeat magazine? It's a free mag that gets delivered every month to ratepayers in the city; and while I consider myself a beer mug half-full, good-news-kinda-guy who loves Durban, I still find Metrobeat's blindly cheerful and unfathomably optimistic editorial to be borderline government propaganda.

Veeva Feeva this Saturday people! TheLappies has promised us he will be jamming with the band, so be there! On Friday night it's the second round of Burn The Bands, and let me tell you, last week it was packed with the local crowd and the atmosphere was awesome. Make a plan.

Phar Side Flashback
Submitted by capdog on Friday, September 1, 2006 - 18:53

Remember this place! Yes you do, don't lie, everyone used to go there. Your selective amnesia won't fool me – and besides... it wasn't that bad. Sure the entire image of the club was based on a forgery of Gary Larson's cartoon “The Far Side”, but if we were deducting points for lack of originality, most clubs in Durban would fail dismally.

Pavilion Wheelchair Guy Let Down
Submitted by capdog on Friday, September 1, 2006 - 06:15

If you've been round to The Pavilion lately, you would probably have noticed the broken traffic lights at the main intersection, which flash red for a couple of hours every day. You won't find me complaining, because there are now far less hawkers in the road, and the traffic actually seems to flow a hell of a lot better than it did with the robots working. However, for the guy in the wheelchair, those flashing lights spell disaster.
