Last weekend played host to the break-beat guru "GENERAL MIDI", a.k.a Paul Crossman, from Bristol, England. His visit began in the Cape, followed by a trip to Wilderness and Knysna and just recently Durban, where he has been welcomed with open arms. His experience thus far has been amazing as his first trip to Africa, and has impacted him in such a positive way that he promises to spread the word of the amazing geography, great food, interesting people & culture and warm hospitality to be expected here... most importantly to other heavyweights in the underground electronic movement.

Well before heading out to catch Radar Complex and Habit To at Glass Magic Castle, I did my regular stop in at Zack's on Windermere Road [ex Naked on 9th Ave].

For those that haven't stopped by this venue yet, for either a sundowner to ease into the weekend, or to start the pre-clubbing shenanigans, Zack's is a great chilled spot for a Friday night, and the perfect warm up for a night out.

There is a company in South Africa that has done more damage to the economy than anything else - a government owned entity with a monopoly over telecoms and a hell-bent desire to fleece citizens; while simultaneously posting record profits and lining the pockets of it's BEE investors. Guess who? Telkom of course. Until now, there has been little public activism, but that's changing on Friday, when we will publish a full-page advert in the Mail & Guardian denouncing Telkom's demonopoly.

So what of this golfing lark ? Well a couple of underground dj's and producers have being going undercover [of darkness, cause its after work and in the evenings...] to skill-up at the driving range, in preparation for this last weekend's, big 9 hole round, up in the midlands.

So my friends and I were denied entry to a rather empty-looking Society this last Saturday night, because for some reason they have decided to implement a selective dress code. If you're not wearing long pants, your money ain't good enough for them these days I'm afraid.

I had the pleasure of eating at Green Mango the other week, on 9th Avenue at the Spar centre. It's a slightly unconventional combination of Thai and Japanese, but that certainly doesn't affect the quality of either of the two culinary streams. And the sushi is simply amazing.

You will all be very pleased to know that each Durban suburb has finally been allocated it's own hideous 'community' website! It took an age, but finally... it's done. Now take a look for yourself, at what our inbred crop of web designers have produced:
