So I was in a suitably dodgy end of Durban-town-city on Sunday. Post excellent lunch and a standard beach saunter, when I came across this promo activity outside the Wheel, across the road from what used to be the Bazaar.
How bazaar indeed that sucha vehicle would be parked on the pavement, with just one bulky attendant.
First thought: commandeer the vehicle. Find a petrol station, find some bushmen, get directions to the nearest straight line salt pan. Drive inna straight line. That’s kinda as far as the plan went.
So I have no idea what this vehicle was doing on the side of the pavement onna Sunday night in a suitable dodgy part of Durban-town-city. But here’s some pics!

Bazaar indeed. WTF are they doing with that? How did it get there? More importantly, can I get my own one?
Ya,that is strange,i wouldnt mind giving that 1 a quick test drive though.
That's crazy - hardly the most salubrious of environs for such a pretty little racer - that thing must be bolted to the floor! Say, s.o.l. - you take walks down that area, and take photo's? Maybe you should get yourself one of those attendants. Let's just hope that the Point reinvigoration/rehab plan makes its way along Gillespie...ah, how I remember getting into Barbados underage, ah the profligate drunkery, ah the snoggery, ah the getting turfed out by irate bouncers...life was so simple back then...
maybe it was an elaborate promotion for some meth-amphetamine kingpin ?
"Be cool to Yourself...Speed Thrills"
[BTW has anyone ever seen a spoof T-Shirt with that line on, ie a rip[h]off of the Transport Dept tag line "dont fool yourself...speed kills" ? think it would be a good one to do IMHO ]
hed-man: yeah yeah. the clicking fingerz always triggered on the space in front of me eyes ;)
speed kills?
kill speed>
reminds me of the concept for eliminating speeding tickets, cameras and officers.
electronically limit the top speed of motor vehicles sold in this country to the maximum (120?)
that way, nobody can speed, there's no need to trap or spend resources, and cops can go back to the essential policing duties like seat warming, conjecture and finger wagging...like the good ol days, inDEED
"the battles no longer physical, it's from within"
Drove passed panama room on saturday night at around 12 on the way to burn, and saw another one of these parked outside. Tried to slow down enough and get my passenger to take a photo really quickly as i had cars up my butt, but all i managed to get was a blurred mess :(
