I would like to tell you all about the flip side of living in the "wonderful" land that is London. Sure it is great for cheap drinks and a good laugh... until you want to settle in London, you know, land your roots somewhere. This is when you are exposed to the other side of London, the side where everything you try to do is a catch 22 situation, and there are plenty of them about to bite you in the ass. The honeymoon period is over, you have spent all of your Rands and it is time to find a job, accommodation, open a bank account, get an NI number and generally start living normally again. No such luck... London attempts to piss you off every day in any way possible.

To get a job, you need proof of address but you cannot move anywhere until you have a job, so you can pay the rent.
To open a bank account, you need a job so where are your earnings meant to be paid to?

Maybe Sparky will give me a regular London spot and I can update you on all the little things that annoy me immensely every day!! Believe me, I have plenty!
