Veeva Feeva this Saturday people! TheLappies has promised us he will be jamming with the band, so be there! On Friday night it's the second round of Burn The Bands, and let me tell you, last week it was packed with the local crowd and the atmosphere was awesome. Make a plan.
On a side note, what's happening with the underground electronic scene? Let's see some more electroclash parties you guys!
FRIDAY 8th September
Burn The Bands Competition @ Burn
Bands: Fiend, Penance, Mea, The Tubby Wilsons, Creophagous, Contrast The Water
Cover: R25
Time: 9pm
The popular battle of the band format where 25 bands compete in a 'survivor' type format. Bands try and get one of three immunities to proceed to the next round. It gets tricky when they can't get the same immunity two heats in a row. Filled with drama, backstabbing and long lasting friends and alliances. Very rock 'n roll!
SATURDAY 9th September
Veeva Feeva @ Glass Magic Castle
Where: 24a Old Main Road, Hillcrest
Cover: R20
Time: 7.30pm
Back by popular demand, Australia's Veeva Feeva will be giving us their last performance at the "Glass Magic Castle" on Saturday. Various DJ's between band sets, a drum circle (where you are free to bring your own drums and percussion), a cash bar, food on sale and an outside chill area are well worth the R20 cover charge. Perhaps some guest musicians? Come find out!
Detach, Above Chains, Regeneration @ Chiltern Park
Where: Pitlochry Road, Westville North
Cover: R20
Time: 9pm
Looks like a big one with these awesome bands...
Underbelly & Rising End @ Burn
Cover: R30 or R20 before 9pm
Time: 10pm
This is going to be fun! Bring along some old, unwanted cash for a T-shirt. We hope to see you maniacs there. Please help us to promote these shows by spreading the word - it’s much appreciated!

If you're feeling rich, go check out Dan Patlansky, blues musician at the New Dockyard Theatre, Musgrave centre! This guys is sensational, seriously, seen him play about 5 times and will never get sick of it.
It's R80 for the show, plus you pay for supper. Saturday and Sunday nights. 031 201 9147
(he's also playing at Southern Cross, so if you can wait...)
Believe Patlansky is the man!!! Have booked him for a few gigs and the guy never ceases to amaze. The one gig i did with him at Spiga the cops actually came and shut us down and Luca left me, ex criminal turned businessman, to deal with em. Doods at Tribeca probably complained cos there was no one at their spot at all, but the whole of florida rd probably Morningside was outside Spiga.
YEAH,GO DAN GO.

Just for fun, I thought I might add a reply to this article that actually relates to the original thread!
The battle of the band was epic but The Tubby Wilson's were ahead of the pack by several strides! Greatest crowd response, biggest crowd and most energetic performance.
A comment heard in the mens bathroom immediately afterwards:
"That last band was pretty good hey? Like, simple, simple music but really upbeat"
Additionally, several mates who were there with no more than a vague interest in a couple of the bands left with a significantly higher opinion of these overweight and underpaid newcomers!
You beat me to it Oz - The Tubby Wilsons were really awesome on Friday night. They definitely have a new fan (at least one!)
Yep I'm loving them too.
