Anybody got more info on that Iridium Project?
Bhora should be awesome this weekend! What a great band.
"Iridium Project's unique mix of funk, uplifting house, electro, jazz and soul, is kicking up a storm in South Africa's party scene. The group constantly explores new frontiers of electronic music technology blending it with vintage analogue synthesizers and wealth of extensive DJ experience.
The secret weapon is incorporating live elements such as aboriginal didgeridoo, percussions and keyboards.
DJs Andretti and Nick Matthews provide the fresh and funky beats for the live fusion with Riccardo Moretti on keyboards, congas and didgeridoo, and the divine vocals of diva Lu Chase.
"The didgeridoo and the percussions create an amazing connection with the crowd and allow the band to explore the tribal and African rhythms. Iridium Project takes its inspiration amongst others from Jamiroquai, who early incorporated the didgeridoo into his production, but adds a distinctly jazzy funk flavour, creating a new form of "tribal electro funk" says Mario."
I remember a track of theirs from a SL CD but I thought it was more along the lines of drum n bass?
Could be interesting...
That sounds awesome. Damn I hate it when there are so many cool things going down all at once... just wanna be everywhere!
This just in... your granny is going to be sad because there is actually something going down on Friday (thanks to T, Steve and Mike for the emails), it's as follows:

Jamie Cullum and Jonathan Butler
Doors open at 4pm. Tickets R250!
I would totally be there in a flash in the gardens and all if I could. And then, feed the duckies and contemplate the meaning of life afterwards...
No, seriously, sounds rad
sounds like a good combo to me
do think us cheapskates (thats if you condsider not wantin to fork out 250 big ones being cheap!) can just park in the park and still take in the sounds without paying?
Did that last week for the swing concert and it was sweet!
Although somehow I doubt theyre gonna let us in without a ticket...damn the man
Sounds like fun, but ya... R250... that's hectic. I don't know anyone that would pay.
I would definitely pay to see that...if I had 250 bucks spare, like just falling out my hair or something. Seriously worth the bucks I reckon, but I think Ill be climbing a tree in the park...
HI Guys...
WE hosting a VC battle of the ebach front ie battle of the bands tonight.
Feat bands Living Alarm, Last chance to dance, Tubby Wilson, and Clock Struck Dune
R20 starting @ 6pm!!
see you guys there
Hey dude, sweet thanks for the info. Go Tubby Wilsons! :)
Guys... due to ticket demand and weather problems (rain) the venue of jamie cullem's concert has been moved to the playhouse opera theatre...same time and price tho.
I guess thats why one should read the WHOLE page before commenting. LOL, there go my tree climbing plans
I know this is uber-late, but I just got off the phone to Richard Ellis and theres a drum festival at the Bat Centre at 7 this evening. Tickets are R50, and R25 for students. Guys are gonna be jamming sounds from africa, india, zanzibar. There is a drum circle, an afterparty and a drum art expo downstairs. Dont bother calling the Bat Centre, cos they dont have a clue what they're talking about. This is all the info I could get from Richard himself.
